William C. View, 74, of Wright Avenue in Kingston entered into eternal rest on Tuesday.
Born April 4, 1939, a son of the late Charles M. and Marie Parry View, he lived most of his life in Wilkes-Barre.
An Army veteran of the Vietnam Era, he proudly served our country for two years.
Before retiring Bill was a baker at Chiampi’s Bakery in Scranton for many years.
Bill enjoyed sports and taking long walks. He would have given the shirt off his back or the last dollar in his pocket to anyone who needed either and always wore a smile on his face.
His wife, Mary Fernstrom View died in 2000 and a son, Albert View died in 1989. Brothers, James and Charles View and sisters, Joan Perrins and Marlene Garvey also preceded him in death.
He will be greatly missed by his daughters; Rosemary Askew and Bryan Oberdorf of Kingston, Ann Marie View of Scranton, and Mary Jo Zimmerman of Hazleton; grandsons, McKenzie, Collin and Gregory Askew; brothers, Joseph and Leo View of Wilkes-Barre; nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held Friday with visitation from 5 to 8 PM at McLaughlin’s – The Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. Interment in Bloomingdale Cemetery will be private.
