Sandra Davies McCormack

Sandra Lee (Davies) McCormack, 79, of Wilkes-Barre passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family at home following a lengthy illness on Monday, August 9, 2021.

Born September 25, 1941 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late William D. and Ann Edwards Davies.

A graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School, where she was head cheerleader, Sandra completed trust banking courses at Bucknell University. She was employed by Miners National Bank and its successors before retiring from Citizens Bank.

Sandra was a former member of Welsh Bethel Baptist Church in Wilkes-Barre where she sang in the choir.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Sandra loved her family dearly.

Her husband of 58 years, Frank E. McCormack; her children, Frank of Forty Fort, David (Elvia) of Framingham, MA, Susan E. (John R.) Schwartz of Haymarket, VA, Tara A. (Charles. J.) Doyle of Alpharetta, GA, Megan M. (Matthew) Walsh of West Grove, Neill (Elle) McCormack of Lehman; grandchildren, Kyle and Nina McCormack, Audrey, Caroline and Jack Schwartz, Sara, Shane and Carley Doyle, Matthew Jr., Connor and Cole Walsh, Margaret and Mila McCormack; three step-grandchildren, Adeline, Gabrielle and Isabella; brothers and sisters, Joyce Bush of Cherry Hill, NJ, William D. (Mary Ann) Davies of Shavertown, Phyllis Balmer of Dallas, Janice Dombek of Dallas, Ann (Anthony) Esser of Scottsdale AZ, Jean of Wilkes-Barre, Paul (Patricia) of Shavertown, Wayne (Jean) Irmo of SC, Linda (Michael) St. Pierre of Wilkes-Barre, and Richard (Sumnar) Davies of Hanover Township; sister-in-law, Della J. Davies, Wilkes-Barre; aunt, Shirley E. Edwards of Kingston; nieces, nephews, other family and friends will miss her very much.

Celebration of Sandra's Life begins Thursday, August 12, 2021 with visitation from 6 to 8 PM at McLaughlin's, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre and continues there on Friday with a prayer service at 10 AM led by Pastor Matthew Tarr of High Point Baptist Church.

Donations to Hospice of the Sacred Heart will honor Sandra's memory.
