Ruth Hayward Clemons, 82, of ManorCare in Kingston and former longtime resident of South Welles Street in Wilkes-Barre entered into eternal rest on Saturday evening at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born April 4, 1931 in Kingston she was a daughter of the late Walter and Bertha Sprow Hayward.
Ruth was a member of the Parish of Our Lady of Fatima and a communicant at the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Her husband, Larry Clemons died in 1988. Brothers, Robert, Donald, Raymond and Walter Hayward and a sister, Shirley Hayward also preceded her in death.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Mary Ann Clemons of Wilkes-Barre; Larry and his wife Jerri Clemons of Hanover Township, Joseph, Michael and James Clemons of Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Kelli and Matthew Clemons and Ryan Richards; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ruth’s entire family is grateful to the staff of ManorCare and Wilkes-Barre General Hospital for their compassionate care.
Celebration of Ruth’s Life will be held Wednesday at 8:30 AM from McLaughlin’s – The Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
Visitation will be held at McLaughlin’s on Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM.
