Pam Smith, 73, of Forty Fort, formerly of Philadelphia, died peacefully but unexpectedly on August 30, 2026.

Born September 17, 1952 in Washington, DC she was a daughter of the late Francis and Barbara Derr Wholey.

Pam worked for the University of Pennsylvania for several decades and was still working at the time of her death because she loved her job and the people she worked with.

Pam loved life, her friends, her church and choir family, and most of all her family. She loved to have fun and brought joy to all who knew her. She danced, sang, and enjoyed both classic rock and classical music. She loved vacations to the Jersey Shore, Europe, and Colonial Williamsburg. Pam was an avid Phillies fan. Christmas was her favorite holiday; she would stay up all night wrapping specially chosen gifts in the perfect paper with matching bows.

Pam’s twin sister and best friend Pat, her brother Jackie, and her niece Jen preceded her in death.

Pam is survived by her three sons, Joseph (Bernadette), Anthony (Sharon), and Mark; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Diane and Janice; her brother, Dennis (Sue); and many nieces and nephews. She held a special place in her heart for her niece, Gayle (Stanowski) Zionce.

Celebration of Pam’s Life begins on Sunday, September 20, 2026, with a memorial service at 11:30 AM at Forty Fort United Methodist Church, 10 Yeager Ave, Forty Fort.

The service continues on Saturday, September 26, 2026, with final prayer and burial with her family at 12:30 PM at Laurel Hill West Cemetery, 321 Belmont Ave, Bala Cynwyd.

Donations to Forty Fort United Methodist Church are preferred and will honor Pam’s memory.
