Mary M. Lopatto, a lifelong resident of the Heights section of Wilkes-Barre passed away at Little Flower Manor on July 12, 2014.
Born August 26, 1916 Mary was the daughter of the late Attorney John S. and Mary S. Lopatto.
Mary was a graduate of Southern Seminary Preparatory School in Buena Vista, Virginia and Beaver College in Glenside.
Mary was an elementary school teacher for the Wilkes-Barre School District where she was a second grade teacher at Weaver School and Heights-Murray School for thirty years. Prior to her teaching career, Ms. Lopatto worked for the Luzerne County Probation Department.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Church and several state and local teaching organizations.
Brothers, Honorable Edward W. Lopatto and John S. Lopatto, Jr. preceded her in death.
She will be greatly missed by a brother, Richard H. Lopatto of Scranton; sister-in-law, Josephine Lopatto of Wilkes-Barre; and sixteen nieces and nephews.
Private services for the family are scheduled for Saturday, July 19th, 2014 with interment following at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bear Creek.
