Marie E. Smith

Marie E. Smith, 81, a longtime resident of Wilkes-Barre and Nanticoke, peacefully passed away in the presence of her loving family on Wednesday, June 7, 2023.

Born March 2, 1942 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late William J. and Alice Krauser Reseigh.

Marie attended G.A.R. Memorial High School and furthered her education at Luzerne County Adult Services & Allied Medical Careers. She retired from Boscov's after many years of service.

Marie was gifted in many ways. She shared a lot of love with her many pets throughout the years. She was talented in arts and crafts, and enjoyed singing and listening to music. Her greatest gift was helping others, especially those in need.

Her husband, Arthur C. Smith Sr, died on December 30, 1994. A son, Arthur C. Smith, Jr., and brother William J. Reseigh, Jr., also preceded her in death.
Her daughters Clydeine and her husband Paul Adamchick of Virginia, Artrina and her husband James Rosencrans, Jr. of Shavertown, and Cathy and her husband Christopher Arnold Sr. of Dingman's Ferry; grandchildren Elizabeth Ricart, Heather Adamchick, James (Lauren) Rosencrans, III, Mikayla Rosencrans, David Adamchick, Kristopher (Nicole) Rosencrans, April (Michael) Wood, and Christopher Arnold Jr; great-grandson Joshua Ricart; other family and friends will miss her very much.

Marie's family is grateful for the loving care she received from Deborah Rosencrans, the care staff at Riverstreet Manor, and everyone at Allied Hospice.

Celebration of Marie's Life begins Monday, June 12, 2023, with visitation from 5 to 7 PM at McLaughlin's, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. It continues there on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, with a prayer service at 11 AM.

Donations to the Alzheimer's Association, alz.org, are preferred and will honor Marie's memory.
