Margaret Cherpak Elias

October 1, 1932 — March 17, 2026

Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania

Margaret Cherpak Elias, 93, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully at Allied City Center on March 17, 2026.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on October 1, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Mary Kita Cherpak. She was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, and she worked for many years at RCA in Mountain Top. She was a lifelong resident of Wilkes-Barre.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Joseph Elias, by her sisters and brothers, Michael and Joseph Wojcik, Adam Cherpak, Ann Baranowski, Sally Check, Mary Slivinski, Leo Cherpak, John Cherpak, Stanley Cherpak, Carolyn Laity, Theresa Ellis, and Irene Cherpak. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout the country.

Marge's life revolved around her family. While she and Joe never had children, they were exceptionally loving and generous with all of their nieces and nephews. Marge enjoyed caring for her great-nieces and great-nephew, and she and Joe regularly traveled to visit Midwestern family.

Marge's resilience and fighting spirit overcame many health challenges. She was a devoted nurse to Joe toward the end of his life, and they are now reunited.

She made many friends at Allied Center City, and the family is grateful to Allied Services for the care and devotion they showed to her.

Marge's family will celebrate her life privately.
