Joseph C. Lang, 100, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025.

Born December 30, 1924 in Wilkes-Barre he was a son of the late Joseph C. and Florence Griesmer Lang.

A graduate of E.L. Meyers High School, he served our country honorably as a soldier of the Army during World War II. He fought in the Germany, Northern France, and Normandy campaigns and received a Purple Heart for injuries sustained in battle.

Joe worked for Better House Marvel Kitchens before retiring.

Joe was a member of the Parish of Saint Nicholas - Saint Mary and Saint Conrad's Y.M.S.

His beloved wife of sixty-six years, Emily Schuler Lang, preceded him in death on March 2, 2012.

His daughter Mary Beth and her husband Jack Geffert of Larksville; grandchildren John Geffert, Tommy Geffert and Dawn Shoemaker, and Karen and her husband Larry Mazurek; great-grandchildren Larry and Alivia Mazurek, and Rylee and Natalie Geffert; and other family and friends will miss him very much.

Celebration of Joe's Life takes place on Monday, January 13, 2025, with visitation from 9 to 10 AM at McLaughlin's, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in the Church of Saint Nicholas.
