Eugene Martin Thomas

April 29, 1969 — November 26, 2023

With deep sorrow, we announce the death of Eugene Martin Thomas, 54, of Bentonville, Arkansas, on November 26, 2023. Eugene was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and spent his childhood in Bear Creek, where he made dear, lifelong friends, enjoyed his summers on the lake, and spent many weekends with his beloved grandma, Amanda Kearney.

Eugene was dedicated to God as an infant, baptized at the First Welsh Baptist Church in Plymouth, confirmed at St. Stephens Church in Wilkes-Barre, and served as an altar boy there.

Eugene attended Coughlin High School and Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, and later had a long career in technology sales where colleagues adored him. He also spent some years as an entrepreneur running a Premier Kohler kitchen and bath business on the island of Curacao. An eager linguist, Eugene also excelled in multiple languages. Aside from these endeavors, Eugene loved spending his time in the great outdoors. From a young age, he was a junior ski instructor, dirt bike rider, scuba diver, kite surfer, hunter, and fisherman.

Eugene was a joyful, free spirit who was devoted to his children. The world was certainly a better place with his smile and kind soul.

Living in Arkansas he was a faithful member of the Monday Morning Men's Bible Study at Cross Church in Pinnacle Hills, Arkansas. This group and church held a memorial service for Eugene. His lifelong friends from Tech Data Corporation held a special mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Doral, Florida. Dear friends from Coughlin, Harvey's Lake, and Bear Creek gathered at the Grotto in Harvey's Lake to celebrate Eugene's life.

Eugene is survived by his son, Tristan Thomas; daughter, Camille Thomas; son, Jacob Thomas; son, Samuel Thomas; mother, Lucy Kearney Drapiewski; father, Wayne Thomas (Marie); twin brother, David Thomas (Danielle); nephews, Gavin and Noah Thomas; former wife, Danique Sprock; aunt, Anita Muhlbauer; and cousin, Megan Ruotolo (Michael).
