Edward W. Farrell

Edward W. Farrell, 73, a longtime resident of Bear Creek passed away at his residence on Wednesday.

Born August 18, 1943 in Wilkes-Barre he was a son of the late Joseph and Geraldine Youron Farrell.

Ed was a graduate of E.L. Meyers High School. A member of Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association, Local 44, he owned and operated Wilkes-Barre Sheet Metal for more than thirty years.

Ed was an avid equestrian and was most proud of his Arabians. As a licensed pilot, he enjoyed flying and spent countless hours at the Wyoming Valley Airport in Forty Fort.

Brothers, Joseph and Robert Farrell preceded him in death.

He will be greatly missed by his children, Laurie Farrell-Austin of Bear Creek, Lacey Farrell and her husband Mark Cassebaum of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, Maura and her husband Ian Miranda of Stamford, Connecticut and Ian and his wife Ana Maria Farrell of Shavertown; grandchildren, Ashley and Lauren Austin, Willa Farrell-Cassebaum, Hayden, Julian and Ellis Miranda and Benjamin Farrell; his dearest friend, Colleen Youngblood, other family and friends.

Celebration of Ed’s Life will be held Saturday with visitation from 2 to 4 PM at McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre.

Memorial donations are preferred and may be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
