Adeline M. Orloski

July 11, 1933 — September 18, 2023

Adeline M. Orloski of Mountain Top, 90, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on September 18, 2023.

Born July 11, 1933 in Georgetown she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lottie Sledziewski.

A graduate of Marymount High School and Wyoming Valley Hospital School of Nursing in Wilkes Barre, Adeline was a registered nurse at Wyoming Valley Hospital.

In 1954, she married the love of her life, Frank Orloski, who impressed her with his Army uniform! She eventually gave up her nursing career to raise a family, and they were blessed with six children. They moved to Mountain Top in 1961, and while Adeline stayed at home to raise their family, Frank began to build what would become the Orloski's Quik Mart empire. Adeline was the classic example of "behind every successful man stands a strong woman," and nothing could be more accurate.

Adeline took great joy in raising her family, Sunday breakfasts after church and dinners, holidays, musicals, spending winters in Arizona, and always being around her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her involvement with the Parish of Saint Jude brought her great joy, and she served for many years as PTG President and a member of the Building Committee, eventually making the new Church of St Jude a reality.

Her husband, Frank R. Orloski, died on January 1, 2021. Two infant children, Mary and John, brother Edzieu Sledziewski, sister Loretta Bartnick, and daughter-in-law Debbie Orloski also preceded her in death.

Her sons Frank and his fiancée Donna, Ed and his wife Joanne, Jerry and his wife Anne, Bobby and his wife Diane; daughters Adeline and her husband Gary Zack, and Jan Woods; a brother Louis Sledziewski; nineteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren are left to carry on her legacy.

Adeline's entire family is grateful for the four years of excellent care she received from Barb Matta, Cathy Comitz, Esther Kipa, and Joanne Merola. We thank you for loving and treating our mother like your own.

Celebration of Adeline's Life begins at McLaughlin's, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre, on Thursday, September 21, 2023, with visitation from 5 to 8 PM. It continues at the Church of Saint Jude in Mountain Top on Friday, September 22, 2023, with visitation beginning at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM.
