Sue Ling Gin

September 23, 1941 - September 26, 2014

Sue Ling Gin, 73, a much-admired leader in the Chicago business community, died Friday morning at Rush University Medical Center after suffering a stroke Tuesday at her Chicago office. Ms. Gin was the founder and CEO of Flying Food Group and founder and president of New Management Ltd., a Chicago-based real estate management company. Sue met a kindred spirit in William G. McGowan, founder and chairman of MCI Communications, whom she married in 1984. He died after suffering a heart attack in 1992. Her brother, Richard M. Gin and sister, Soon Ho Kazakis also preceded her in death. She will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews, including Sherilyn and her husband Phillip Kingsbury, Sue and her husband Chad Wooten, Connie and her husband Mark Perez, Calvin and his wife Lauren Gin; sister-in-law, Mary Alice Gin; other family and friends. Celebration of Sue's Life will be held in the Church of Saint Vincent de Paul, 1010 West Webster Avenue in Chicago with visitation on Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM and Wednesday from 10 to 11:30 AM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 1 PM. Private interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
