Sandra Jean Petersen of Falls passed away peacefully on January 11th after an illness.
Born November 19, 1950 in New Britain, Connecticut she was a graduate of Wilkes University and was a passionate outdoorswoman, gardener and writer.
Sandy worked most recently in Human Resources for Geisinger Health System and the County of Lackawanna.
Three infant children; Matthew David, Gabrielle Rebecca and Grace preceded her in death.
She will be greatly missed by her most beloved daughter, Amanda Jane and her precious grandbaby and best buddy, Sadie Jean, both of Wilkes-Barre; her loving parents, Robert of Nevada and Dorothy of Florida; and her remarkable sisters and brother; B. Candyce of Connecticut, Janet of Florida, Morgan of Virginia and Robert of Florida.
Family and friends are invited to share in the Celebration of Sandy’s Life on Sunday, January 26th from 2 to 5 PM at McLaughlin’s – The Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre.
Sandy truly believed that life is beautiful. In that spirit, and in lieu of flowers, her family asks that you do something nice for someone else today.
