Mary Elizabeth Lenahan, 76, of Wilkes-Barre passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Hospice Community Care.
Born October 1, 1937 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late Attorney Frank P. and Mary Dane Lenahan.
Mary was a graduate of Saint Ann’s Academy and Mercy Hospital Nursing School.
Mary loved being Irish and had great passion for her Irish heritage.
She will be greatly missed by her sons, Joseph G. and his wife Karen Malloy of Thornhurst and Thomas F. and his wife Alicia Malloy of Wilkes-Barre; three grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Lenahan Kelly of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Suzanne Lenahan Collins of the Parsons Section of Wilkes-Barre; nieces, nephews, other family and friends including a special cousin, Martin Lenahan Jr., his wife, Martha and their two daughters, Martina and Colleen.
Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held Friday with a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in the Church of Saint Aloysius, Barney and Division Streets in Wilkes-Barre. Visitation will be held in the church beginning at 10:30 AM.
Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
