Loretta Butterwick

Loretta Regina Beckley Butterwick, 85, a resident of Forty Fort passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on Sunday following a valiant battle with cancer.
Born 1 September 1923 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late Charles and Loretta Dalton Beckley.
Loretta attended Wilkes-Barre city grade schools and was a member of the Class of 1943 of Hanover High School.
Before raising her family, Loretta worked for American Tobacco Company and Percy Brown’s.
Living most of her life in Wilkes-Barre, Loretta was a life-long member of Saint Aloysius Parish. She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, performed for many years in the choir, Canotres Dei and contributed to many bazaars by making angel dolls and other crafts for various booths. A devout Catholic, she was also a member of the Blue Army and Pennsylvanians for Human Life.
A twin-sister, Lorraine Brunza, sister, Aileen Martis and brother, Charles ‘Buck’ Beckley preceded her in death.
Surviving are her husband of sixty-two years, James Oliver Butterwick
Son, James Joseph and his wife Maria Groblewski Butterwick
Daughter, Nancy Ann Butterwick Gorts
Grandchildren, Jessica Lynn Gorts, Ian James Butterwick and Leah Marie Butterwick
Brothers, Ross and George Beckley

A private visitation will be held at McLaughlin Family Funeral Service in accordance with the wishes of her family.
Friends are invited to join in the celebration of a traditional Latin Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM on Wednesday in Saint Aloysius Church. Interment will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
