Kathryn Farrell

Kathryn Farrell, 78, of Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 24, 2022.

Born March 22, 1944 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late James A. and Anne Boyle Farrell.

A graduate of St. Mary's High School, Class of 1961, Kathy continued her education at Misericordia University and earned her Master's Degree from Rutgers University.

For more than thirty years, Kathy proudly taught business classes at Edison High School in New Jersey. She was beloved by her students and had many close friends among the Edison Eagles teachers and staff.

Kathy loved music, shopping, good food and wine, and everything Irish. Her St. Patrick's Day celebrations delighted the family and will always be remembered. Kathy was a caring friend, sister, aunt, and neighbor. She loved all animals and was an avid gardener for many years.

Kathy left a legacy of generosity and caring for her entire family. In recent years, she truly enjoyed spending time with her great-nephew and -nieces, Timothy, Caroline, Norah, Anna, and Becca.

Her brother James (Jay) Farrell, sister Ruthanne Kovatch, and her devoted friend Joan Klass preceded her in death.

Her sister Eileen Brennan and brother-in-law Paul Brennan; niece Liz Brennan Sheehy; nephew Matthew Brennan; brother-in-law Eugene Kovatch; nieces Karen Kovatch Zimmerman and Karla Kovatch; great-nieces and -nephew; and other close family and friends will miss her very much.

Celebration of Kathy's Life takes place on Saturday, August 13, 2022, with visitation beginning at 9 AM at McLaughlin's, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception.

Donations to the ASPCA will honor Kathy's memory.
