Karl M. Burke, 71, of South Main Road in Mountain Top died Sunday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born March 16, 1938 in Ashley, he was a son of the late Edward J. and Emma Perschau Burke.
Karl was a graduate of Saint Leo's High School.
Before retiring in 2004, Mr. Burke was a library assistant for the D. Leonard Corgan Library at King's College for forty-three years.
Karl was a member of the Parish of Saint Jude.
Brothers, Bishop James C. Burke, O.P.D.D., Paul Burke, Bernard F. Burke, Reverend Edward J. Burk, O.F.M. and Gerald R. Burke and a sister, Patricia Bratton preceded him in death.
Surviving are a sister, Kathryn J. Burke of Wilkes-Barre, brother, Donald G. Burke of New Bedford, Massachusetts and nieces and nephews.
Karl’s Life will be Celebrated in a Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 9:30 AM in the Church of Saint Jude. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
Friends may call Tuesday 4 to 7 PM at McLaughlin’s Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre.
Memorial donations are preferred and may be made to Saint Jude's Building Fund, 422 South Mountain Boulevard, Mountain Top, PA 18707-1996
