John Charles Schmitt II, 51, of Stamford, Connecticut passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022.

He was the loving son of John Schmitt and Eloise (Siddons) Schmitt of Hawley and the beloved husband of Angela (Bevan) Schmitt for twenty years.

John attended Wallenpaupack Area High School in Hawley and earned his bachelor’s degree in International Business and Real Estate from the Pennsylvania State University, main campus.

John and his wife relocated to Rhode Island where he worked for Fleet Precious Metals. He later worked in real estate for CVS Health, and as an Executive Director for J.P. Morgan Chase.

John touched everyone around him, and he enjoyed caring for others. He was always on a mission to serve others and make people happy.

John had an adventurous side too. He and Angela enjoyed hiking and exploring new areas. Every year he looked forward to the guy’s ski trip and Penn State homecoming with college friends.

John also loved spending time with family, including his two dogs Tobin and Turner.

In addition to his wife and his parents, John is survived by his extended family and a host of friends. He will be deeply missed by all.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 19 from 10 AM to 12 PM in the Church of Saint Thomas Moore, 53 Rockland Street in Narragansett. Rhode Island. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon, followed by a gathering in the parish hall. Mass will be live streamed on the parish website: https://livestream.com/stm/stm-funeral

Burial will follow at a later date.
