John J. Rothenbecker

John J. Rothenbecker, 82, a longtime resident of Wilkes-Barre passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 7, 2020.
Born September 5, 1938 in Wilkes-Barre he was a son of the late Francis and Margaret Gately Rothenbecker.
Jack was a graduate of Saint Nicholas School and G.A.R. Memorial High School.
He proudly served our country as a sailor of the United States Navy.
Before retiring, Jack was an active member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 542.
Jack was an ardent Notre Dame fan and was a Past Commander of American Legion Post 132.
His wife, Nancy Koch Rothenbecker, died September 25, 2011. A son, Kevin, and daughter, Margaret Mary 'Peggy' Frankiewicz, also preceded him in death.
Children, Jack and his wife Sheila Rothenbecker of Mountain Top, Susan Smith of Mountain Top, and Michelle and her husband Joel Vincent of Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and other family and friends will miss him greatly.
Jack's entire family is grateful for the kindness and exceptional care he received from Associated Family Care Agency, especially Lynn, Barb, Amber, Terry and Alaina, and Mary Ellen from Associated Home Care.
Jack's family will celebrate his life privately.
