John Edwards

August 9, 1948 — November 17, 2012

John W. ‘Cracker Jack’ Edwards, 64, of Hunlock Creek died unexpectedly on Saturday.

Born August 9, 1948 in Hazleton he was a son of the late John William and Anna Morris Edwards.

Jack was a graduate of Walt Whitman High School in Huntington Station, New York.

A Navy veteran of the Vietnam Era he enlisted in June of 1967 and was stationed aboard the USS Saratoga when he was discharged in November of 1970.

Jack was employed for twenty years by UGI Electric in Hunlock Creek retiring two years ago.

Jack truly enjoyed life and was there whenever a helping hand was needed. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, and, most of all, riding his motorcycle while participating in benefit rides with his brothers from the Flying Aces M.C.

His parents, an uncle, aunt and brother preceded him in death.

He was a kind man and will truly be missed by all, especially his wife of twenty-three years and true soul mate, the former Katherine Ahrens; his two loving dogs and cat; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Jack’s Life will be held Friday at noon in Oak Lawn Cemetery, 1250 South Main Street in Hanover Township. All are invited to attend.

Arrangements are by McLaughlin’s – The Family Funeral Service.
