John Shields Carr

John Shields Carr, 72, of Wilkes-Barre passed away Monday with his family by his side.

Born April 30, 1942 in Wilkes-Barre he was a son of the late Thomas and Mary Rowan Carr.

John was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School and served in the Air Force Reserves.

John retired from his career in restaurant management in 2006.

A brother, Thomas Carr, preceded him in death.

He will be greatly missed by his sons, Jason and his wife Lori Carr of Saylorsburg and Brian and his wife Becky Carr of Pittsburgh; grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Nolan Patrick, Sydney Elizabeth, Brennan Thomas and Sophia Ragan Carr, all of Pittsburgh; his former wife and longtime friend, Pat Stephens Carr; brother, Donald Carr of Laurel Run; sister, Marilyn Carson of Dallas; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Celebration of John’s Life will be held Thursday at 9 AM from McLaughlin’s – The Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 10 AM in the Church of Saint Aloysius. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
