Francis "Red" Belusko, 88, previously of Hazleton and a guest at Providence Place, Drums, died Thursday evening, Dec. 3, 2015, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Oneida, he was the son of the late August and Anna (Lawrence) Belusko.

A graduate of Hazleton High School, Red was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish at St. Mary's Church, Wilkes-Barre.

He served for years as business agent and president of the Teamsters' Union Local 401, Wilkes-Barre, and previously drove for Roadway, Karns, and Interstate Dress Carriers.

He was a U.S. World War II veteran, serving aboard the "John Sergeant" in the Merchant Marines.

He was a member of the Holy Name Society and Men of Malvern, and enjoyed coin collecting and gardening. In 1968, Red was a very visible cast member in the movie "The Molly Maguires."

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his brothers, August, John, Joseph and Robert Belusko, and sisters, Margaret Millan and Sophia and Helen Belusko.

Surviving are his wife of 65½ years, the former Nancy Martin; daughters, Peggy Heffernan and her husband, Mike, Royersford; Terry Babczak and her husband, Steve, Drums; Helen Sanzi and her husband, Gary, Ridgewood; Mary Antal, Wilkes-Barre; and Pam Bojanowski and her husband, Paul, Glen Lyon; and sons, Mike, Wilkes-Barre; and Pat and his wife, Donna, Hanover Township. Red's sister, Ann Marie Stahovich, Bath; and grandchildren, Michael, Ryan, Kyle, Brendan, Bridget, Gary, Lauren, Eric, Patrick, Sean, Lauren, Brandon and Matthew, also survive, as well as 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
