Anne McGlynn Steiner

Anne McGlynn Steiner, 83, went on her last adventure on the morning of Friday, December 16th, 2022.

Anne was a graduate of St. Leo's in Ashley. On November 25th, 1961, she married Paul, a Navy man, and her true love. Anne and Paul would travel the world together for ten years, going wherever the Navy needed them. She would reminisce about that time for the rest of her life, constantly telling stories and reliving exciting moments. Anne and Paul celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on November 25th, 2022. In total, they spent over 64 wonderful, wild, sad, and loving years together.

Anne always said her most significant achievements in life were her three children: Paul, Jr. (PJ), James (Jimmy), and Patricia (Tricia). PJ, her firstborn, was always in motion. She would tell stories of how active and busy he was as a child. PJ: mom treasured how you would get out of class at King's and come home, pick her up, and take her along on your errands. She loved your long walks when you wanted to talk. She loved the bond you and Karen had created for your family. Mom was incredibly proud of you and always adored you.

Jimmy, her second son, was the one she knew when it was time to take a break. She would laugh and remember how as a young boy, Jimmy would put the toys down, crawl on the couch, and nap. Jimmy: mom loved to watch you as a father and hear stories about your three boys. She loved how close of a family you and Kim created and nurtured. She loved that your boys made her a great-grandmother. Mom was always proud of you; most importantly, she deeply loved you.

Tricia is her third child and the only girl. Anne and Tricia were truly best friends, and in her waning years, Tricia was everything to Anne. Their last adventure took them to the Motown Forever show at Mohegan Sun, a last chance to laugh and dance. Tricia: mom loved and appreciated you more than you will ever know. She was always so proud of the way you raised your son and shaped him into the man he is today. She always said you were a survivor and you're made of tough stuff. Please never forget that. You will never know just how much mom loved and valued you. As John Wayne once said, "Ya done good, kid."

Timmy, Danny, Matt, Becca, Nick, and Dominic: your Grandma, Nana, and Mia loved each of you more than you will ever know. She loved to hear about your accomplishments and celebrated all that you did. She was proud of the people you grew up to be. She knows she was blessed to be called Grandma, Nana, and of course, Mia.

If you're reading this, don't cry for Anne. She had a life full of tenderness, joy, and adventure. She passed on the same way she lived, full of warmth and surrounded by love.

Instead of flowers Anne would prefer a donation to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. The funeral will be by invitation only.
