Anna Novinski

Anna Horro Novinski, 86, died peacefully on January 20th at her home in Hanover Township.

Born February 14, 1928 in Hanover she was a daughter of the late John and Eleanor Gronowski Horro.

Anna and her husband were the proprietors of the Sunset Drive-In in Mountain Top, Annie's Diner in Nanticoke and Penn Deli in Wilkes-Barre.

A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother her family was most important to her. She loved cooking, spending time at the pool with the kids, and her cats, especially Fluffy.

Her husband, Charles V. Novinski died April 1, 1990. A daughter, Linda Borowski; sister, Dorothy Grabinski; and brothers, Walter, Michael, Charles, Edward, Frank and Julius Gronowski also preceded her in death.

She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Dianna and her husband Joseph Daches of Mountain Top and Christine and her husband Raymond Kruk of Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Joseph Charles and his wife Danielle Daches of Texas, Cassie Reed of Vermont, James and his wife Brenda Kratz of Hanover, Heather Evan of Forty Fort, Raymond Kruk and his wife Jen Majikes of Kingston, Kenneth Kruk of Maryland, Christopher Kruk of Plains and Kayla Kruk of Wilkes-Barre; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph Horro of Korn Krest; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Anna's entire family is grateful for the loving, compassionate care that Carol, Gale, JoAnn, Flo and Amy shared with her.

Celebration of Anna’s Life will be held Friday at 8:30 AM from McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in the Church of Saint Nicholas. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at McLaughlin's on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM.
